Molly Has Her Cria!

Finally, after over a year pregnant, Molly gave birth to a healthy 18# 10 oz dark brown girl on Tuesday, June 1. Immediately up, nursing and doing the things baby alpacas do, she is definitely a cutie! Now, we have to come up with a name for the new baby girl - pics are here.

 

 

Farmer's Market Season Starting

Destiny's Farm will have a booth at the Weare and Amherst Farmer's Markets for the summer of 2010. The Amherst Farmer's Market is on Thursdays from 2:30 to 6:00 pm, and the Weare Farmer's Market is 3:00 to 6:00 pm. We will have a great selection of locally produced alpaca fiber, yarns and finished goods. Other farm products that will be offered, based on availability, include Jo-Ellyn's Infamous Cranberry-Lemon Bread (so good it should be illegal!), Concord Grape Jams, and garden goodies as they mature. We will bring several alpacas to the markets occasionally, and will publish those dates when known.

 

Weare Home Educators Visit Destiny's Farm

Destiny's Farm would like to thank the Weare Home Educators for visiting on Wednesday, 4/28/10. We hosted ~40 parents and children for a short educational session, with lots of contact with the alpacas.

Everyone was advised that Molly was due any day now, and to check back here often - we will announce her new cria when it arrives. After lots of good questions, and some outstanding warm apple-cranberrry cider with cinnamon, everyone got a package of alpaca fiber and activity sheets.
